Virtual therapy for perfectionists, over-achievers, and people-pleasers 18+ in NJ and NC
Helping people who are tired of feeling overwhelmed and burnt out from chronic anxiety, OCD, or the pressure they put on themselves.
Are you ready to break the cycle so you can live a more peaceful and fulfilling life?
Trying to control how you’re feeling probably isn’t working
Life can be incredibly stressful when you live with chronic anxiety, OCD, high sensitivity, perfectionism, people-pleasing tendencies, or extremely high expectations of yourself.
Trying to control the things that set off discomfort, panic, or worry, holding it all together, and trying not to let others see you struggle is exhausting.
You may cycle between phases of urgency and overwhelm, then feeling so drained you want to give up, but you’re terrified of what might happen if you let go of control.
It doesn’t have to be this hard.
If you’re seeking relief, access to your own wisdom, and permission to let go, I’m here for you. Therapy can help you find a better way forward.
Meet the Therapist
Hi there. I’m Erin Sweeney, LCSW. And I get it, because I’ve been there.
For many years, I woke up daily with a weight on my chest because I knew I would face a thousand moments in my day when anxiety would kick in, and I’d desperately try to do something to keep juggling, keep performing, keep hiding how much I was struggling.
After many years of working on myself (with the help of some very wise and kind people), I got to a place where I could let go of the striving, the avoidance of failure, and the fear that someone would see the terrible truth that I don’t always have everything under control. And I felt so much more free.
Now it’s my mission as a therapist to help self-described perfectionists, overachievers, and control freaks let go of pressure and overwhelm, get in touch with their wants and needs, and learn to live a more calm, peaceful, and fulfilling life.

“You’ve helped me so much. I never imagined I would be affected so little by OCD. A year ago, I was dealing with it all the time, now it’s such a small thing.” - CT
